Server service for file & print sharing!

I'm running XP home & was just wondering if I wanted to set up
network shares in order to let others use my printer or grab files off
my hard drive, how I'd go about it as the options are greyed out within
the sharing tabs & although I've yet to try to set this up, it looks to
me as though I'd need to be running the network service called "server"
which currently doesn't appear in my list of windows services at all!
How do I go about getting this set up so that the relevent options
are no longer greyed out in the file sharing boxes? Thanks for your
