Server not found, multiple downloads simultaneously

For the past weeks I'm having problems downloading from more than one server
simultaneously. I'm using a dial-up connection (only one available locally),
when I try to pull from a URL where text and graphics are stored on different
servers remotely, I get text ... but not graphics. Sometimes the browser will
simply give up trying and say "Server not found" but if I reload a half dozen
times, it will "catch" and I'll get some of the page.

If downloading two pages on different browser tabs, only one will pull.

Things were working well weeks ago; I've downloaded no new software, and
I've checked for virus.

This sounds like an MTU setting problem. That's not unexpected in dialup
networking.

Hi,
Try this, clear your caches and delete all offline files and cookies.
Then open your RUN command and ipconfig /flushdns press OK and then reboot
your machine.
If still no joy try the following;
You may have a corrupt winsock which can prevent you from
pulling/downloading from the server.
Try download this tool from here and repair your winsock;

HTH.
Please let us know your progress.
