server just beeps when I try to copy/paste a file

We recently had to perform a full restore on our W2k SBS. We are having a
couple of issues. One with Veritas 9.1 and the other is a weird file problem.
When I copy a file and then try to paste anywhere on the server, the server
just beeps and the file doesn't paste. I have tried to take ownership of the
file....set the rights on the file but no luck. I can share the folder and
then copy the file from one server to another using the OTHER server to
access the share but I can't paste the file anywhere locally. Any ideas?

We have a machine showing the exact same symptoms. It's a long shot that
you'll even see this, I know, but did you ever find a solution to this,
Dennis? Does anybody else know the solution?

Just to reiterate - the machine can copy in DOS, but drag/drop copying or
moving doesn't work and doesn't give you an error; copy/paste or cut/paste
results in the system speaker beeping twice quickly. There is only one user
on the box - Administrator - which is a member of Administrators, and has
full control and ownership of all files.

The machine hasn't been on our network, and has been shipped directly from
the supplier, so should be completely virus-free. It's running Win2k SP4.
