Server IP-address added to owner field printing from Solaris

Hi out there.

Server IP-address added to owner info at printout

I have set up a printer queue in Windows2003 as a lpr queue.
Printing from windows works perfectly but printing from Solaris
using the lp command the IP-address from the Unix host is added
to owner field when looking at the printqueue in the printserver
while the job is shown.

If I change the queue to be RAW the problem still is there.

Please help.

yes this is a security design of the Windows LPD service. You can try some
other LPD service and see if they just pass the user name.

This will also happen using the Windows LPR.exe client software so it's not
limited to Unix.
