Server 2003 and XP SP2 on a network

Paul

Hi all,

A mate of mine, is having probs with 1 XP SP2
PC, and Server 2003 (There are 3 XP PC's
networked thru Server 2003 (2 of the XP PC's
DON'T have SP2 installed).

The other 1 DOES have SP2. The SP2 PC seems to disconnect everyday about the
same time about
5 pm everyday from the domain. The other non SP2
XP PC's are fine.

Is this a known issue with SP2 and Server 2003??

There is no mention of what or why this is happening,
on the SP2 PC (thru Event viewer).

There's no viruses etc on the SP2 PC.

Would anyone know how to fix this issue between the SP2 PC and Server 2003??
Or maybe point me
to an MS site with maybe a solution?

Any info appreciated

Cheers

Open Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Advance (Tab) > make sure that the
ethernet connection to the server is checked as an exception.

Paul:

I use XP Home & Pro SP2 into a Win2k3 server domain without any problems.

Review Event Viewer on the ws and on the server for messages logged at 5:00
pm.
