Server 2000 / 2003

Hi All,

I am in possession of a hp server which has raid 5 capability. What i woul
like to know is how to build this from scratch. Does either windows 2000 /
2003 recognise that there are 5 disks in the server and can you just boot
with the cd in, or do you need to configure the raid 5 before installing the
server application.

Any kind of details would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards.

Most servers have a "start up" disk which you use to configure the raid card
and hard drives before installation of the operating system.
Thankfully, HP/COMPAQ allow you to download this so you can burn it onto a
cd for initial booting.

Checkout the technical help area for servers on the hp/compaq site, and
enter the information (server number, o/s etc) pertaining to your box.

Good luck,

Brad
