Serious xp problem.

Hi, I recently posted a problem I was having regarding xp freezing up on the
two-tone login screen. I was told to do a repair install with the cd. I
tried, but during the portion were the it is intalling windows, a window
would come up stating something like, runedit.dll...and then a window asking
if I wanted to choose which program I wanted to open it with, or check the
web. The cd I used was a slipstream xpsp2. Then I tried just using the xp pro
cd, but after the first phase of installation, the computer just keeps
rebooting. Does anyone have any information that could help me.

You must try to uninstall sp2, now that you have tried a setup with a cd
without sp2. There is a 'manual' way to uninstall (batch spuninstall.txt)
