Hello,
I've installed a brand new HDD and Windows XP Home but keep getting
frequent system crashes and errors like the ones below:
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180 szModName :
rpcrt4.dll
szModVer : 5.1.2600.2180 offset : 000060b5
BCCode : 50 BCP1 : A4786EE0 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 :
804E86E8
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product :

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please post complete copies of the error reports.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.Do not re-enable automatic restart on system
failure.

Are the errors occuring during the boot process or after it has
completed?

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your tips, Gerry. It crashes usually when I try to watch
video streams mostly via TVU player or ESPN-360. For anti-virus and
stuff I'm running CA Security Suite 2008.
I've found hundreds of event reports. So I've selected some that
looked crash-related.

The rest of them either repeat these or don't seem to be crash
related. It looks like some kind of MB/soundboard incompatibility.
Your thoughts?

Many thanks for your help.
