Use a form or a query. As far as I know you can't turn it off. That is just one of many reasons not to use tables for anything other than to describe fields and to store data.

Use a Continuous Form instead, it doesn't have this stupidity. This came in with A2000. MVP's and others have been snarling at the Access Development Team ever since. They're not listening, it seems.
