Serial number of machine as Machine name on XP Pro

I have Dell GX 260 machines. I am planning to install all
apps and service packs and hotfixes on one machine , then
sysprep it, ghost it for distribution on another machine.
I want to have the serial number of each machine to be
automatically inserted into the mini setup, which runs
after starting up the machine. how can this be possible?.

also after syspreping and imaging on a new machine, will
it give me the option to join the domain?.

The answer is yes to both of your questions. I will have
to search for it, but I believe I have directions for both
somewhere.
