Serial Device Problems

Hi,

Im having troubles with Windows XP picking an industrial
serial device (used for weighbridges) as a serial mouse.

The current baud rate of the device is 2400. I cannot
increase the baud rate as im running a serial link over
long distances.

The problem mainly happens when the device is plugged into
a comm port and the computer is turned on.

Is there a way of fixing this problem? So far, I have
tried disabling plug and play in the Bios. But that has
not worked. Perhaps there is a fix of some sort that im
not aware off.

I first ran into this a couple of weeks ago.

Let windows find the device and install the drivers, then go into device
manager and disable it.

Don't delete it as windows will just keep re-installing it.
