Was that an error message from Windows Mail, meaning the message
is now in the Outbox instead of Sent Items, or did it go to Sent Items?
If the former, there is much missing from the error message. Right-click
on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Did you send that message to multiple recipients, and did you verify
that you have their correct email addresses?

Thanks for the quick response.....actually the emails are in the sent
box.....and one is to an individual (but she is our mail co-ordinator for a
group listing and may have some stuff connected to her email) although I
didn't press reply all. The other was to a funeral home and I got the
address from a link issued in the first email.

Since the sent copy wound up in the Sent Items folder, it means
that as far as Windows Mail is concerned, there was no error.
Also see my next response.

What you got is known as a 'bounce' or non-delivery notice.
That is an external email response as opposed to an error message from
the internals of Windows Mail.
Frankly, I don't know why you got that strange notice. All you can do is
try again, and hope that it goes through next time.
