SENT mail not arriving at destination

SOS...I just learned that emails I have been sending have never been sent to
my planned recipients. The SEND box says that they are sent, but the people
never get them and I never receive a delivery failure message either. After
testing the system, I have been told by my email provider that it is an
OUTLOOK problem. I have OUTLOOK 2002, can anyone please help me quickly. I
really need to fix this as my emails are work related. Please help. Thank
you!!!!!!

Do you have antivirus that integrates with your Outlook to scan outgoing
email? If so, your messages are probably queued up in that.

If a message is in your Sent Items, then as far as Outlook is concerned it
connected to a server, gave them the information, and the connection was
closed. I have seen messages get caught up in antivirus scanning in the
past as just about every residential-class antivirus package parks itself
conveniently between your email client and your mail provider so it can
watch everything coming in or going out. Of course if this application goes
wonky then so will your email.

I'm guessing your provider is telling you it's an Outlook issue because
they did their homework and checked their logs to see if they ever received
a message from you to one of your recipients (this would have required you
provide them with the time and/or date of a message you sent that wasn't
received as well as the email address you sent it to, though I suppose they
could have just checked to see if they'd received ANY mail with you as the
sender), and they did not just tell you it was your Outlook to get you off
the phone.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Joe. I called my provider back and
although we tested sending emails could not find the problem. They think it
is a problem on the sender's side...and yes, the sender thinks it's a problem
on my side...sigh. I long for technology to work better...you pay your bills

If your messages move from Outbox to Sent Items, that's a fairly clear sign
that your ISP's mail server is accepting your messages and that it's their
problem. However, you can prove that it is their problem by enabling
diagnostic logging. The log will show unequivocally whether or not the ISP
is accepting the message and if they are, they can't argue with you.
