sent items not displaying in sent folder

Hi there, I recently moved my email account from outlook express over
to outlook but since then my sent mail is not being recorded in the
sent items folder.

The 'Save copies of messages in sent items folder' box is ticked.
The current view in sent items is set to IMAP messages.

I can see all the sent items that i wrote from outlook express but none
that i have written since i transfered over to outlook.

If anyone can give me a clue as to what the problem would be that would
be muchly appreciated.

Ta

Outlook does not automatically put sent messages into the Sent Items of an
IMAP account (unless that's changed in OL2007). You have to move them there
by rule. You'll find them in the Sent Items folder of your default folders
otherwise.

Check the primary .pst."

causing the problem? How do i check the primary.pst ? Sorry not that

Looks like i have a second set of data files and the sent items are
going into that sent item folder. But cant seem to change the default
data file delivery location as there is not a second one in the pull
down menu in Control Panel/ Mail/ Tools/ Email Accounts. Any ideas?

You cannot make an IMAP account's folders the default delivery location.

First, disable the option to save sent messages in Sent Items. Then click
Tools>Rules and Alerts>New Rule>Start from a blank rule>Check messages after
sending>Next. Click Next again to make the rule apply to all messages.
Click Yes when Outlook asks if you are sure. Select the "move a copy to the
specified folder" action and for "specified", choose your IMAP Sent Items
folder. Click Finish or click Next, then Next (to skip the exceptions),
specify the aditional rule attributes, and click Finish. Now every message
you send will also be copied to the Sent Items folder of the IMAP account
folders.
