I am using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Home and would like to be able to
email a distribution list to someone and have them save it in Contacts as
their own distribution list. I used the Forward feature and was able to
email it as an attachment to the other person. when they opened the email
and double clicked on the attachment, they could see the distribution list,
but could not save it to Contacts. It would save as an rtf file, but not in
their Contacts.
Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks,
Howard

Instead, use a new email message form and use Insert->Item - browse to your contacts folder and select the DL to insert.

O.K. I sent the email as you describe below, but the recipient still needs
to be able to save it to Contacts. When they bring up the "Save as..."
option, it only saves the list as an rtf file in some download folder. How
do they save it to the Contacts section as a working distribution list? We
are NOT using Exchange, just plain Outlook 2003 on each machine.

If you attach it to a message in RTF format, the recipient simply opens it
and saves it. It will then reside in the default Contact Folder.
