Help...i receive my e-mail on my home PC and on my work PC. Before going to
work I check my overnight e-mail. Usually I open Outlook and the PC
sends/receives automatically, I also have auto delete when I close outlook
after the prompt "are you sure etc...". All is well. However, there are times
when I open Outlook and there are already e-mails sitting in the inbox when
outlook was closed. Also, when I close outlook the program closes without
asking if I'm sure I want to permanantly delete the e-mails in the deleted
items. This becomes a problem when I arrive at work as my home PC continues
to receive e-mails and I cannot get them at work. The only way I can resolve
this is to reboot my home PC. This seems to "reset" outlook so it only
receives when outlook is open. I can also delete the delted items upon
closing.

Does this sound like an outlook issue or a PC issue??

BTW - My work PC never does this

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing mail.
