Sending pictures/jpeg

Has anyone been successful sending pictures with windows mail? You can't
resize if you just do it as an attachment. The instructions tell you to send
pictures via the windows photo file, but they don't go anywhere - they seem
to enter a black hole when hyou hit send, and nobody gets the pictures I
send. This sucks.

Not sure what you mean by "Windows photo file".
Open Windows Photo Gallery, select the photo(s), click the
E-mail icon on its toolbar. It should offer a choice of sizes.

If that doesn't seem to work, try this fix:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
