Why can't I send any pictures in e-mail, other than as attachments? I can
do this, but it doesn't give me the option to make them smaller, and it
takes so long to send even one photo. I would like to send pictures in the
body of the e-mail, but a dialog box keeps coming up that says I don't have
a profile created, must do that with the mail icon in the control panel. I
can't find that either, the control panel doesn't have a mail icon. Help!

That dialog you saw pertains to Microsoft Outlook. The Mail icon
won't exist in Control Panel until Outlook is installed. It sounds
like your Windows Mail does not have all its defaults assigned.
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

You can make outgoing pictures smaller as follows. Open Windows
Photo Gallery, select your photos, then click the E-mail command
on the toolbar. It will give you a choice of picture sizes.
