sending photo's using Windows Mail

Just received new laptop, Vista pre-installed, did not know about Windows
Mail until about an hour ago. Set it up, seems to be fine, BUT, when I tried
to e-mail a photo, the Microsoft Office Mail program came up. Do not want to
use Micro. Office (it's the 60 day trial version, do not intend on keeping it
after 60 days). How do I set up my photo's to use only Windows Mail ? Any
help greatly appreciated.

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

"I did what you said"??? I didn't tell you to do anything. :)
I was responding to "tiki2". You have a different problem.

"smtp" is not a valid mail server name. Who is your mail provider?
They will have a web page with the server names and related information
for setting up an email account. If you need more help, tell us who your
mail service provider is.
