SENDING PHOTO'S BY EMAIL, HELP!?

C

Chris

I have been trying to email my sister in-law a folder of
some photo's. She says it comes up as a short cut of
which she can't open. Where am i going wrong? I thought
it might be that they are Bitmap images and thought of
changing them to Jpeg, but i don't know how to do this.
PLEASE HELP?

Yes...jpg would be best for e-mail because
..bmp files can be quite large.

Open the folder and select the image/s
you wish to send...one per message is
probably the best idea. If you send several
in one message...be sure the total file size
does not exceed the limit posed by your
provider and your recipient's provider.
(1 to 2MBs is probably the limit)

Right click the selected image/s and choose...
Send To / Mail Recipient...

You should get a dialog box that asks you
to resize the image/s. Click...OK.

Now a new message should pop up with
the image file/s attached.

Enter the e-mail address...add your message
and click Send.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you how to
convert the files to .jpg.

Open the image files in any digital
image editing program and go to...
File / Save As...
Choose...JPEG (.jpg) from the drop
down menu and click Save. Be sure
you save in a folder that you can find
later. The My Pictures folder is usually
a good choice.

If you do not have an editing program
you can download IrfanView for free:

IrfanView 3.85
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html
(get the plug-ins too)

Before you experiment with your image files
it would be a good idea to make copies and
work with them. If you have a problem you
will still have your original files.
