You may not have the outgoing side of your email account set up correctly.
Ask you email provider (who is probably also your internet provider) for
their instructions on how to set up to use their email servers. If they
haven't
written instructions for Windows Mail yet, use their instructions for
Outlook
Express but under Windows Mail instead. The instructions are probably
somewhere on their web site. Or, you could tell us who your email
provider is and see if anyone here already knows where to find the
instructions.

Does the email you are trying to send stay in the Outbox?
Is there an error message?

'www.aol.com' is not a valid SMTP server name. Find out from AOL what it
should be.

Hi,

have done that, now i get the following message, when sending.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'www.megamagnets.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 INCORRECT DOMAIN IN MAIL/RCPT COMMAND', Port: 587,

Change the outgoing (SMTP) server name to smtp.aol.com.

If you also want to receive email through AOL, use these settings:
http://www.postmaster.aol.com/imap/express.html

Yes it stays in the outbox and the error message is
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: Dec 24', Account: 'pop1.nb.sympatico.ca', Server:

Have you set up as directed by Sympatico's instructions?

http://upgradecentre.sympatico.ca/FAQGuide.aspx?p=FAQ_GOE

They don't seem to have written instructions for Windows Mail yet, so
use their instructions for Outlook Express but under Windows Mail
instead.

Does your connection to that server cross from one internet provider's
equipment to another's? If so, such connections to port 25 are often
blocked to cause trouble for spammers.

Are you having DNS server problems? If not, using a numeric
server address is not recommended in case the email provider
changes it.

Hello,
I'm trying to set up Windows mail, I use Bellsouth.net could someone give me
some help setting up my POP3?????????? in or out going mail?

The bellsouth.net instructions are unreachable now. When they are reachable
again, click on More at http://www.att.net/, then Advanced Search, then the
Exact Phrase box. Enter either Windows Mail or Outlook Express, click on
the second box to the right of Domain, enter bellsouth.net, and click Search
Google.

One of the sites it finds should include the instructions for setting up.
If you
can't find one for Windows Mail, use one for Outlook Express but under
Windows Mail instead.

Your problem is with AOL, they are a very restrictive ISP.
AOL will not allow you to use a 'From' address that is not a
@aol.com address.

One workaround would be to get a free account with Gmail,
configure it for POP/SMTP, then use the Gmail server to send
messages from (e-mail address removed).
