Sending mail to exisitng ditribution list

I would like to have my distribution list hidden to the receipients. I would
like to send a mail to an exiting distribution list and make it such that
the receipient will see his/her name or email only. I have not been able to
figure out how to do it. Any help will be appreciated.

A really easy one: Just use "Bcc:" which has been standing for "blind
copy" for many long decades with paper mail.

In the editor select to show all lines of the header.
This will add a "Bcc:" field.
Enter the addresses (the list) there.

Using Bcc: when using a list is an essential. Still it's not commonly
known ... :-( :-(
