Home Premium doesn't come with a fax program. You need either Business
or Ultimate.

In your case, either buy a third-party inexpensive fax utility or an
inexpensive fax machine.

OK, thks for info.

I got a 3rd party fax utility - RKS for Vista (maker of Might Fax for Win
XP). But it didn't work because Vista does not permit RKS to work with ADL
modems. Does it mean that Vista users subscribing to ADLs services for
their Internet connection can never enjoy fax on their PC.

You need a fax modem, either internal or external and you need to
connect it to a phone line. ADL lines/modems won't work for faxing
regardless of what operating system you have.

Fax doesn't work with cable modems either. Install an analogue modem, and
plug into into the regular phone system, ensuring that there is no ADSL
filter in line..

Use it with the ADSL filter. Did that for years without a problem.

ADL? ADLs? Do you mean DSL or ADSL?

Forget about your internet connection and the "modem" it uses. To fax,
you need to need to fax over the regular diaup telephone line. That
means you also need a regular fax modem, one that you don't use for
your internet connection. They are fortunately very inexpensive.

You will need a third party fax application. Unfortunately Vista premium
doesn't have any faxing software. Windows fax only comes with Vista
Ultimate, and Business.
