Sending email with attachments includes phantom attachment "gif" f

Each time I send out an email with an attachment a phantom "gif" file also
attaches. How do I search and delete the automatic attachment? Anyone have
a clue?

Since I don't have the software to open a "gif" file, I'm not entirely sure
what the picture is of, but it's entitled dadshirt.gif, so I'm thinking it's
a photograph someone sent to me via email. I've never been able to open it
and a bit worried it's some k ind of worm or virus.

A gif file can be opened in at least 4 programs that ship with Windows;
Explorer Thumbnail Preview, Picture and Fax Viewer, Paint and Internet
Explorer.

I did a search on my computer - found the dadshirt gif file and deleted it.
I'm hoping that will work. Otherwise, I'll be back for more answers.
