hello, I'm retired with a BS and MEd, but when it comes to pc's i'm just a
rookie. I used to use Windows XP, but have recently bought new, and now have
VISTA,.. when I'm on ANY SITE, that has an email connection or link, I used
to just click on it, and my outlook exp would come up, and allow me to send
that email - Now when I click on emails from sites, I get a message saying
the windows mail is not available - ideas, how do I get the email links to
work, please reply here and to
(e-mail address removed) too, thanks, dave po

You failed to say which email program or service you are using now.
If you used Outlook Express on XP, its successor on Vista is Windows Mail.
To make Windows Mail your default email program:

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

If you would rather just use Hotmail, you can make that your default:

Gary, thanks much, that did it, and it was so simple - Yes, I wanted windows
mail as the default, only used the hotmail account to get to the message
board,
If you ever get bored, take a look at the site I try to run,...always could
use your expertise there, an oldie/nostalgia site., www.pos-peek.com
thanks again from one old rookie. dave po
