OK, I have Window Mail working to send but I can't get mail there at my .live
address (it's the only one I use.
I get the following error when I start it up~

Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR command not implemented', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

I do get replies via my window live account with Qwest however.

I had the same problem. My husband very carefully went over my account info
under Tppl, accounts. He went to Surewest by googling 'help with surewest
email.' You would want 'live.' They tell you exactly how things should look
for you. I swore I had it all correct, but he found one error, fixed it, and
I've been doing great ever since. So, try your server website and be very
careful.

Tools > Accounts > your account > Properties > Servers . Under Incoming Mail
Server - check " Log on using clear text authentication " > OK

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
