Last few weeks, not been able to send ANY email attachments via ANY
email programme (eudora, OU, turnpike).
Any email containing an attached file just sits there, and eventually
times out.

Recently installed mcafee after a worm virus got through my old version.
Problem seems to have started since then.

What I've tried so far:
Mcafee support suggested a fix which doesn't help.
Turning firewall off (via mcafee software, or windows network
connections, or both, doesn't make any difference.
Turning worm stopper off within mcafee doesn't help.
I've seen lots of noise on web sites about this problem, but no
solutions.

I think I would rather have had the virus than not be able to send
attachments!

I'm getting so desperate, I'm looking at ftp options (that's progress!)

Please help!
TIA

Are you virus scanning outgoing mail?
Try turning the scan off.

Try turning the scan off.

Tried that. The online help suggests turning off just the worm scanner:
tried that, no help. Tried turning whole virus scan module off: no help.
Tried turning everything off (inc firewall): still same problem, and
wide-open to viruses / hackers!

Have since installed zonealarm and avast scanner. I'll see how they
compare.

Thanks for suggestion.
Any more ideas?
