Is it not possible to attach a folder containing jpeg pics? It doesn't seem
to be allowed. I was planning to send a compressed folder containing about 20
pics and thought this would save send/receive time.

You need to zip the folder first. Then, it's a matter of size vs. your
server. If it is too large, you may need to resize the pix first and then
zip the folder.

What is the exact error message you are getting that makes you think
it is not allowed?

A folder is not a zip file. Vista will show you the contents of a zip file
as if the zip file is a folder, but it is not a folder.

Error message is 'You can't drop directories here. Would you like to make
shortcuts to directories?'

Oh, I thought by "compressed folder" you meant a single ZIP file
containing the compressed images. You can only attach files, not
folders.

Yes I did mean what I thought was a folder containing all the jpeg files,
which could be compressed or not. I have now found that if I right click my
folder and select 'send to compressed folder', I can then pick that
compressed folder up and insert it in an email as a single attachment, but
that can not be done with the uncompressed folder.

Yes, sending to a compressed folder means those images get
zipped into a single .ZIP file, which is legal for attaching.
