Try using a W98 Startup Disk or a WME Startup disk
And I'm answering you *again*: post back with details of *exactly* what
is happening with your computer, *exactly* what you are doing, and what
the error messages are if you get any. And just for good measure,
here's my guess *again*: hardware failure(s). Without more information
from you, specific answers are impossible because we're not at your
house looking at your machine.

OK, so what you've got is a Ghost (or the like) image on a partition
which you want to restore. Couple more questions: 1) Are you sure
you've set up the machine to boot from floppy? Check in the BIOS to be
sure. 2) Does this particular floppy *disk* work in another machine?
Check with a friend to be sure. 3) If the answers to 1 & 2 are "yes",
then try attaching a different floppy *drive* to your machine and see
if it will boot now. After you've done these things, post back for more
help.

OK, it doesn't look good. What it sounds like to me - not having seen
your machine or done any tests on it, but just doing the Usenet
Guesstimate - is that your motherboard is sick or dead and that the
controllers aren't working. You've established that the problem isn't
with the floppy disk and also that the problem isn't only with the
floppy drive. What's left but the motherboard itself? Time for some
major hardware diagnosis. I would use a combination of software like
TuffTest, Memtest (don't want to forget to test the RAM), swapping out
parts, putting your hard drive in a different machine, attaching
different cd-rom and floppy drives, that sort of thing. If this is
something you can do yourself, then start with the motherboard testing.
If not, take the box to a good local computer repair shop (not a
BestBuy/CompUSA type store) for thorough testing. Good luck.
