Sender Requesting Notification When Message Deleted

I have a user who has been getting a pop-up message when emptying the mailbox:

["User Name" requested a notification be sent when message "Subject Line" is
deleted. Do you want to send a receipt?]

The Email in question may or may not have been opened and subsequently it
was moved to the Deleted folder.

What kind of set up results in this message?

I'm seeing a lot more spammers doing this now, asking for a Read Receipt.
