I have tried to send web pages with IE but AOL does not
allow me. Every time I select File> Send> Page by Email
the AOL came to my screen. I did check Tool> Internet
Options >>Programs I don't have any AOL selected. How
eliminate AOL from my IE.

Hi,

Set Outlook Express as default mail client - Start/Run and type in:
MSIMN.EXE /REG

Restore OE to the E-mail List in Internet Options (Row 9)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/restore_oe_client.reg

Restore Hotmail, Outlook and OE under Programs (Line 250)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Reset OE for Send To , Mail To , Send Mail (Line 64)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

In order for that to work, you'll need MS Outlook (Express). I think other
mainstream mail apps will work as well. Internet Explorer doesn't have the
facilities to send webpages via AOL -- because it's non-standard (big
surprise!). If you had another ISP and used Outlook, it would work.

Tim Thanks for the reply.

I never use Outlook Express because I have Microsoft
Office XP and of course I use Microsoft Outlook XP. This
is a recent problem that I never had before.

When I click Tool>Internet Options>Programs I have only
Microsoft programs. My Microsoft Ineternet Explorer is
set as default also. Why AOL is coming to my picture.
Please reply.

Hi,

How to set Outlook as default email client. Go to Start/Run and type in:

"c:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient

Then go to IE tools, internet options, programs and select Outlook as your
default email client.

Also check here and use as an example:

Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command

Default for OE should read like this:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\Msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1
