send web link in e-mail

Recently, whenever I try to send a link by e-mail, I get a message that says
"the operation failed." It doesn't matter what the link is and it only
started happening this week. I have Windows XP Professional, Outlook 2003.
Anybody have any idea how I can fix this? I can't send a link or a page by
e-mail.

What happens when you simply type the URL in the message?

Typing the URL works. It only happens when I have a web page open and I try
to File, Send, Link [or page] by e-mail, I get the message "the operation
failed." Then I have to copy, click on my e-mail and paste it. As far as I
know, I haven't changed any settings on my computer.

I don't know what setting in IE controls that, but try resetting your IE
defaults. If you're using IE6, use Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset
Web Settings. If IE7, then use Start>Set Program Access and Defaults and
choose IE as the default browser.

I am using IE6 and I just tried what you suggested. It did not work, but
thanks anyway. Any other suggestions?
