HI I have a powerpoint file with about 22 slides. The file size is 1.7 meg.
When I send it to word the word file is 227 meg which is too large. Just
wondering if there is another way to do it that will create a smaller word
file? I just need the slides displayed in the word doc with some space for
notes.
thanks.

You might also try just using the Notes Pages view...unless you really need
the file to be in Word format.

I second the suggestion to use Bill D's Slide to Word. If you need to do
this from native PowerPoint, try the following:
When you pick what you are sending to Word, be sure that Paste link is
selected instead of paste. When the send to word is done, use Word's
Edit-->Links functionality to break all the links in the file. This will
decrease the size of the Word file greatly.

What happens with Send to Word is that each slide is placed in the Word file
as a PPT Object. If you link and then break links, you get the graphics of
the slides instead of one object per slide.

Make sense?

Have you tried clicking "File", "Print", in the "Print what" dropdown select
"Notes pages". If you want to customize this look before printing, click
"View", "Master", "Notes Master". There you can add headers/footers, etc.

yes thanks will try Bills program.--
