Send To brings up wrong signature

J

Jeff C

When I right click on a file and choose "Send To Mail Recipient", Outlook
opens a message with the file attached but an old signature which I have
deleted is automatically inserted in the message and the formatting of the
signature is messed up.

Can someone point me to a resource or help me resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

You don't mention versions, but signatures in XP are stored in "C:\Documents
and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures" as HTML, Rich
Text, and Plain Text files. The old ones are probably still there.

I am using Outlook 2003 in windows XP Pro. The three files were there where
you pointed me to. Can you designate which file is used? Are we required to
have all three formats?

When I do a new signature I get one of each. I assume (emphasis on "assume")
that Outlook creates one of each and just uses the appropriate one for
whatever format you're using.

When I remove a signature using Tools/Options/Mail format/Signatures, it
erases all three. It was my thought that if you're getting an old signature,
there must still be a file in that folder and maybe you could just erase it
in My Computer.

In my setup the HTM file contained the correct signature. I deleted the
other two. I then used my computer to go to a file, right click - send to
and a modified version of the HTM signature was inserted. The font format
and size was modified. I then returned to the signatures folder in the
microsoft folder in Application Data - the other two signature files had
been created.

Interesting how things work - I appreciate your pointing me to that folder -
very useful to know.
