Send recieve button in Outlook 2003 vanishes after opening Outlook

LOADED OFFICE PROF 2003 UPGRADE. ALL MAIL SETTINGS SEEM CORRECT.SEND RECIEVE
BUTTON VANISHES AFTER OPENING PROGRAMME AND DOES NOT APPEAR ON ANY POP DOWN
MENUS
