send receive not working

hey all,
anyone have any idea why when i hit send/receive it will just keep displaying send receive and nothing happens. i checked all my settings through email accounts and everythign on that side is working completely fine. It is stating that all of my test email are going through but I cannot Send or Receive anything. Any help would be appreciated.
