Send/Rec Gets "Ghost" Error

R

Roger Simpson

When I press the "Send/Rec" button (for sending and receiving all accounts
simultaneously), I receive an error stating "Some errors occurred while
processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for
more details." However, the "Errors" list below is blank--no error is
listed.

There doesn't appear to be any problem with my individual accounts. If I
use the little arrow key next to the Send/Recv button and click on each
account one-by-one, they individually send and receive just fine.
Alternatively, if I wait until the next automatic send and receive occurs,
they are all processed.

I've tried removing and then adding the accounts, but the same thing occurs.
Even if I just add one account and then press "Send/Recv," I still get the
error for that one account--again with no specific error in the pane below.

Any idea how to get the button to work so that I don't receive this "ghost"
error?

That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:
