send problem on outlook 2007 for vista

Hi there,
I think ive got a message stuck in between my outbox and my sent messages.
my wife tried to send a few emails today but it didnt work. I think one of
them may have had an attachement.
She then deleted all teh files from the outbox.
I typed a short test message and when it tries to send and receive it says
sending message 1 of 2 but there is only the one test message in the outbox.
how do i clear this out ??
