Send link by email opens wrong program

When I try to send a page or link via email, a Hotmail
window opens and asks me to sign in. However, Hotmail is
not the Program set in Internet Explorer for email...its
Outlook (which uses my yahoo account). My Hotmail
account isn't even set up in Outlook.

HELP!

Please post the contents of this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Clients\Mail]

To open Registry Editor, click Start/Run and type REGEDIT.EXE. Use the File/Export (or Registry/Export) option and save as REG file. Post the contents.
