send emails with different reply addresses

Case- I have 5 email addresses where a rule is set up in outlook to
drop them in the corresponding folder, so people who send to
(e-mail address removed) goes into the yahoo folder, (e-mail address removed) goes
into the gmail folder.

Here is the problems- when I reply to these address from outlook,
outlook does not use the address that it was sent to as my reply
address, it uses the default for outlook. How can I make outlook use
my yahoo address in the from field for emails that I reply to that
were sent from yahoo?

In other words, if I use yahoo to communicate with Joe, when I reply
to his email, the from address will be the default, so when he replies
to me, the mail will go to my main inbox which might be gmail for
example.

When you reply, Outlook defaults to the same account through which the
original e-mail was received. Presumably you have separate accounts
defined in Outlook, one for Yahoo, one for Gmail, and so on. If an
e-mail is retrieved from your Gmail account and you reply to it then
your Gmail account is used, by default, to send your reply.

In the accounts you defined in Outlook, make sure your Gmail account
shows your Gmail e-mail address in the E-mail Address (From) field, and
make sure your Yahoo account in Outlook shows your Yahoo e-mail address.

Thanks for the answer so fast, I am encountering a problem. I am on
microsoft exchange, and I wanted to add the pop email. I have 2
questions, 1. I am having trouble getting gmail pop3 to work, it will
not connect to the mail servers. 2. as to the above answer, with
outlook defaulting, is that only when you have multiple pop accounts,
or if you use exchange, will it not default?

I know that is confusing,but so far, when I add gmail as an imap
account, and the reply to a mail, it is still sent with the default
profile address, not the address that it was sent to.

configure Outlook to use SSL and port 995 for POP? They have web help
pages on how to configure your e-mail client for use with their e-mail
service, part of which is that you actually have to enable POP and/or
IMAP access to your account.

Thanks, so I talked to the administrator, and they said they use the
from address for authentication in exchange, so I asked them to undo
that check, they told me that they couldn't, sounds to me as though
they don't know "how" to allow it.

To the second point, I did not configure the ssl and 995 port, but I
did follow the directions to the letter. Whats wierd is that I have
tried it on 4 computers, 3 have XP and it won't work, but the one with
Vista and outlook 07 does accept and works witht the pop account. On
the XP machines, the imap works fine????? It is making me pull my
hair out!!

I can't be the first person that wants to have multiple accounts in
outlook where the reply if from the address that the email was sent to.

If you aren't using post 995 and SSL, then you DIDN'T follow the
instructions "to the letter" because Google's help pages CLEARLY state that
you must do so.
