send and receive emails are not going & coming through

hi, for some reason my emails stopped coming in and going out, the send
receive icon at the lower right hand corner appears to be active only it
stays like that with no results. can you please help. thank you very much.

have you restarted outlook recently? Close it, check in task manager to
verify it is closed and restart. If this fixes it, which version of outlook
and how frequently do you check for new mail?
