I'm a grey-haired home biz owner and this is my very first use of any
newsgroup!" Excuse my verbosity...I'll get better. Here's my pbm:

Am using new WinXP with MS Office 2003 w/BOM on a spanking new computer.
When I click the Send/Receive button to stimulate emails, the "Send/Receive
Progress Box" appears and it shows a whole bunch of emails identified in the
"progress" column as "processing" or "completed," yet none of these emails
appear in my in-box folder (if I click the send/receive button, the number of
scrolling lined can double, etc.! When a "sweep" is completed there can be
several emails showing "completed" but, again, none flip over into my inbox.
What are these lines of email msgs anyway? Often when I start my computer up
from scratch I see a notation beneath my start-up screen log-on button that
says I have x number of emails, yet when I get into Outlook to check 'em out
and punch the Send/Receive button, there are no emails in the inbox and the
"progress" box with the green moving bar shows emails coming in and
completing delivery. Outlook '03 is a lot different than Outlook Express'
more simple method. How can I stop these "PHANTOM" "processing" and
"completing" emails from rolling down the Progress Box screen? Help...and
thanx!

I'm a thin-haired home business owner who thought he had a clue about all
this. Now, I'm having the same problem as you are: When I hit the
send/receive to download my new emails, the Outlook Send/Receive progress box
pops up, the bar moves across the screen as if something is happening, then
the whole thing just freezes up. Often, however, no new email appears. It
makes me think that I'm not getting all of my emails.
