I am trying to send from my laptop. I have been able to send and receive
without problem until I began to travel. Now I can send to most of my
contacts but some come back with this error message:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Re: eggs',
Account: 'pop.telus.net', Server: 'smtp.telus.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '554 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: Relay access
denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number:
0x800CCC79

None of my settings have been changed ...... is there some sort of conflict
with the msn.com site??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

No conflict with MSN. You would have received the same error
for any non-Telus email address.
When you are away from your home ISP, there are two barriers
to cross:
1) A port 25 block by the current Internet connection provider.
2) Your ISP recognizes that you are off-network, and because of
that will only accept messages destined for Telus recipients.

To avoid these types of problems while away from home,
either use webmail for sending, or else get a free Gmail account
and use the Gmail SMTP server.
