Here's a silly little question. What determines the
highlight color of selected text on Win2000?

When I select black text on a white background, the text
remains black and the background changes to grey. This
makes the selected text almost unreadable. This appears
to be a OS setting, since it affects most of my aps and
all of the selection boxes and other things.

Can I change this color?

To clarify, for anyone else who's curious,

Control Panel|Display|Appearance

THEN select the "Item" pulldown menu and look for "Selected
Items."

I foolish assumed that the Appearance tab didn't offer any
way to edit the selection color, because there was no
graphic element in the display example shown above the
controls. D'oh!

Thanks!
