Selecting contacts by name:

Previous experience on Windows XP's email system allowed me, when creating an
email, while at the To: line.....to type in a name, e.g., Julie K....and the
remainder of the email address came into view. I now have Vista's Word email
system in use, just started. Another way of asking: do I always have to go
to the Contacts file and search /or/ can I get the To: address to pop up by
starting to type in the name /or/ address....with the expectation that the
remainder of the addresss will fill in?
 
What you describe is known as auto-completion. It does not work
very well in Windows Mail, which only remembers the last 29 recipients
you've sent mail to. This feature works much better in the newer
Windows Live Mail:
