High Res House of the Dead 4 Shots
A glimpse at Sega's next generation of arcade gaming.
by IGN Staff

We already got a big hands-on play test with the title last week, but today,
Sega properly unveiled House of the Dead 4 to the Japanese press. The
company held one of its seasonal "Private Show" arcade expos in Tokyo,
unveiling its latest arcade titles. House of the Dead 4 took center stage.

Running on Sega's new Lindbergh arcade board and featuring a 62 inch high
definition, wide screen monitor, our play test last week revealed the finest
looking arcade title around. You can see for yourself what the game looks
like in the full resolution screen shots that we've included with this
story. The game runs at a solid sixty frames per second and looks even
better than this in motion, thanks to some stylish camera work on Sega's
part.
Unfortunately, Sega didn't provide specific details on the hardware that
powers Lindbergh. With the first game now officially announced, we hope to
get some numbers shortly.

RUMOR that HOTD4's Lindbergh board is based on Xbox 360 (I very much doubt
this)

360 House of the Dead 4 rumours build

[11/07/05 16:10]
Sega's lightgun blaster said to share technology with next-gen Xbox console

Sega has today published these new shots of the arcade version of House of
the Dead 4, sparking off a whole new round of Xbox 360 conversion rumours.

With Sega's recent announcement that they intend to "recreate a classic Sega
franchise" for the next-gen consoles already stoking the fire, the latest
gossip - that the arcade version runs on a new Xbox 360-based arcade board -
has simply poured petrol on the flames.

No one from Sega was available to comment on the speculation but even a
re-animated corpse bereft of synapses or soul could have a pretty good stab
that their answer would involve the words 'comment, not, on, rumour' and
'speculation'.

House of the Dead 4 will be released into the Japanese arcades at the end of
this year

Oh cool! Another coin-op game that will be in the home 3 weeks after its in
the arcades! Thanks for nothing AGAIN Sega douchebags! Unless this is
straight to home this time. If that's the case then thanks for nothing.

WHAT?!?!
This is a 360 game?
It looks like ass for a 360 title.

It's actually new arcade tech. Personally I agree with you. It looks
rubbish for a current gen title as well. Look at all the aliasing.
