seeking a CD indexer (with mp3 tag reading abililty)

I'm looking for a piece of free software for indexing CDs/DVDs. It would
be nice if it could also index information from the mp3 tags in mp3 files.
(Even just something that spits out the info to a text file would be
handy. Up to now I've run tree.com and similar things.)

Not sure you what you mean by indexing but if you want to read CDs of MP3s
and creatr lists then MP3Lister is excellent. Configurable as to what tag
fields and other info are included, output can be text, html, csv.

CDVista - http://www.gentibus.com/index.html . Excellent - stores media tags as well. It can
also be used to catalog images - will store thumbnail copies to assist when searching.

You may also need to download Microsoft's Data Access Component (MDAC) from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=83e8f178-94c9-4e7d-b0b6-
a8a94c4eb912&DisplayLang=en if you don't already have it installed.
