seeing hidden folders and files on an external hard drive

hello. im hoping someone can help me resolve a long torturous issue. i have
been saving music files to a lacie 500gb hard drive that i recently bought. i
successfully loaded several thousand songs onto it (some ripped from my own
collection, some downloaded from itunes, etc). unfortunately, while trying to
clear songs off of an itunes playlist, i managed to (i think) delete many,
many songs from the hard drive instead. fortunately, i had just synched my
ipod with the hard drive, so my ipod was a current document of every file i
had.

i then went through the process of downloading and purchasing a copy of the
copypod software so that i could back up my ipod onto my external hard drive
so that i would be where i was before i had this little accident.

the copypod software seems to work fine, in that i can copy songs onto a
folder on my laptop, but im unable to load anything onto the external hard
drive. at least, that's what i thought. now, however, im beginning to think
that i am successfully copying files to the external hard drive, but for
whatever reason, they are hidden. case in point, i went onto the external
drive (e:) and created a subfolder called Music. I navigated away from it and
came back, and it was gone. I tried making another subfolder called Music,
but it told me I couldnt because one already existed, even though there was
no visible evidence of it.

So after this longwinded explanation, my question is to you folks: how do I
ensure that I am seeing all hidden files and folders on a drive, particularly
if it's an external hard drive?

Thanks in advance for your assistance! I'm ready to tear my hair out on this
one.

Try going to run, type:diskmgmt.msc In msc,L.click the drive, then go to
actions,
all,select,"make drive active",then close-out msc.Also,if WMP is
involved,open
the player, tools, options, locate where the files are being saved to,by
default its
C: drive, you should change it to other drive...
