Security

I want to be able to apply some security to my database but do not want to
have to go the resource kit direction. I know I can go to view and remove the
tool bars but how do I keep the user from being able to go back to view and
show the tool bars. For instance, I want to set up switchboard/main form for
users to interact with but do not want them to be able to open the
form/report in design view.

Is there a way to secure the database in this manner?

Distribute in the compiled .mde format only. That will keep your users from
opening any forms, reports or modules in design view. (They'll still be able
to open tables, queries and macros in design view).

Make sure to keep a copy of the source .mdb for yourself. You should also
make a copy of the .mdb file available to whomever is paying the bills to
have this DB developed (ie. your boss or client).
