I would like to scan for all spyware softwares in my XP system and also
would like to disable any applications to be installed going forward. This
system is going to be used by multiple users and should be used only with the
current existing applications. If new applications needs to be installed that
be password protected. Could anyone let me know how this can be achieved.

If you are using XP Pro take a look at the capabilities of Software
Restriction Policies where you can configure path and hash rules and start
with a default security level of allowed or unrestricted and local
administrators can be exempt from SRP. If the computers are XP Home you
would should look at the Shared Computer Toolkit and it can also be used on
